[India, K-Community Bangalore] Event for 12/2007

The Knowledge Management Community of Bangalore will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of this month: December 19th. The agenda for our gathering is as follows:

  • 6:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.: Keynote address by Dr. J M Sampath - Foundations of Excellence in Knowledge Management
  • 7:45 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.: Wrapup and conclusion

Talk Description:

Welcome Address: Mr. Prithvijit Roy

Prithvijit began his career in 1998. He worked as a consultant with National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), and then at Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI),New Delhi before moving to GE Capital International Services (GECIS) – Analytics Division, Bangalore in 1999. He was Assistant Vice President in his last assignment at GE, he led a team called "Analytics Growth Engine" which focused on new Analytics service introduction, New Client Development and New Revenue Channel Development. Prithvijit then joined HP Services in Bangalore in May 2005 and currently serves as Business Manager – Decision Support and Analytics Services Group supporting Research and Analytics needs of all HP Business businesses globally.

Prithvijit believes Knowledge Management is key to success for the KPO industry. It will help Organizations focus on creating knowledge and domain expertise, tackle impact from attritions and provide a learning environment to all its employees. He believes the KPO players who will be the first to drive KM successfully in their organizations will be leaders in the industry like many successfully consulting organizations.

Foundations for Excellence in KM

The talk would focus on various elements that are critical in building a culture of excellence in Knowledge Management. You would get an insight on the corner stones of excellence and how they are relevant to KM. You also would get deeper understanding on values that are critical in nurturing excellence in KM. The talk would further explore how to build quality, leadership and add value in KM endeavors.

Speaker Background:

J M Sampath Ph.D

Sampath is an intensive reflective thinker and comes with a vast experience of having worked with several organizations globally which include some of the fortune 100 companies. His core skills are Leadership Development and Coaching. His work is of fundamental nature and evolves around Vision, Values and Learning as key areas of focus .He works with organizations in nurturing a culture of excellence and building Leadership. He heads his own consulting company with offices in India, Malaysia, Singapore, and USA. He has authored two books and published several papers. He has also developed the Vision Value Instrument and Value Profile Instrument .Both these tools have been extensively used in Individual, team and organizational diagnosis and coaching over the last decade. Sampath is a good speaker and has addressed several conferences, in India and abroad, and his presentations on 'Learning for Nurturing Excellence' and 'Vision Value Alignment' have been widely appreciated in different countries.

Sampath has been one of the founder promoters of Kshema Technologies, a successful technology start up. He continues to actively nurture startups in diverse space. 6.
